~A prayer of salvation~

Heavenly Father, I confess and acknowledge that I am a sinner. I repent from my sins, and ask You to forgive me. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God, I believe that He is Lord and Savior, and that you sent Him to die on the cross for me so that I might be forgiven of my sins. I believe in my heart that He rose again and is alive today. I ask Jesus right now to please come into my heart and into my life, to be my personal Lord and Savior. I come to You now Heavenly Father, in Christ's Holy Name, I pray, Amen...

A prayer does not save a person. It's the faith and the sincerity in one's heart that brings them to salvation. And you become a Christian by trusting upon the Lord to forgive you of your sins.

You can pray a prayer like the one above. But please remember, it all comes down to the sincerity of your heart, not the correctness of your words.

Jesus replied, " I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God."

~John 3:3

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

~Romans 10:9

Salvation isn't something that can be purchased, or earned by doing good works. Salvation means being saved from sin, and it doesn't mean that we're free from sin once we repent.

Eternal salvation is a gift from God. (Romans 6:23) And can only come from repenting of our sins, and asking God to forgive us from our sins.

Christ has a desire to have a loving and personal relationship with you (Revelation 3:20). If you have chosen to ask Christ into your heart and into your life, then I encourage you to get a Bible, find a local church, seek the fellowship of other Christians, and pray daily. Pick a time everyday that you can commit to prayer. It does not have to be for a specific amount of time, just tell God what is on your heart. Gradually develop the daily habit of praying and reading your Bible. Ask God to increase your faith and to increase your understanding of the Bible. This isn't going to happen over night. Just please remember to have patience because over time, God will gradually increase your faith and increase your knowledge of the Bible. Be diligent and please do not give up.
